Innovest Systems Supports Operation Backpack for the Third Straight Year

New York, August 26, 2011 – Innovest Systems, a financial technology firm specializing in trust accounting and wealth management solutions, today announced that it has participated for the third consecutive year in Operation Backpack, a program sponsored by Volunteers of America – Greater New York. Innovest once again filled backpacks with school supplies and donated them to New York area kindergarten children, many living in shelters in the Greater New York community. Innovest's employees packed the backpacks with the materials the children need to succeed as they start their school year.

"With unemployment rates remaining high and the economic outlook still very challenging, too many families are finding it difficult to equip their children with the school supplies they need. Approximately 11,000 children live with their families in New York City homeless shelters. Volunteers of America provides life-changing services to more than 45,000 men, women and children every year by empowering them to live safe, healthy, independent and productive lives. Through Operation Backpack, New York City's largest back-to-school drive, Volunteers of America helps children that would otherwise return to school in September without the basic school supplies they need to succeed. This year, with more than 90 community partners and hundreds of individuals participating, Volunteers of America plans to distribute 9,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in need.
